The Battalion of 172 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) foiled an important Naxalite conspiracy in Thalia village of  Budha Pahad area under Bhandaria police of the district. This special operation was conducted under the leadership of Neeraj Kumar, Assistant Commandant under the guidance of U.R. Rameswaram, Deputy Commandant and under the supervision of Nripendra Kumar Singh, Commandant.  The operation started on Sunday at 6 am in the morning. In which the operation team was assigned the task of search operation in the area of Thalia village. During the operation, at around 10 am, when the forces were searching the village. Where CT/GD Sunil Kumar informed about a possible IED at a suspicious place. The security forces searched the  place carefully and recovered two grenades and 06 detonators from the middle of a dense tree. This information was immediately given to the commandant.   On the instructions of the Commandant, the operation team recovered the explosive materials safely following the prescribed protocol and under security cover. The recovered grenades and detonators posed a serious threat to the security forces and local villagers. The aim was to cause heavy damage. The quick action of the CRPF not only averted a major threat, but also foiled the Naxalite conspiracy in time. The security forces are continuously running a tough campaign against the Extremists in the area.
